Aperol Spritz Recipe

Step 1 

Fill a large wine glass (typically a stemmed balloon glass) with ice cubes. Make sure the glass is chilled beforehand if possible.

Step 2 

Measure out 3 parts Prosecco (traditionally about 3 ounces) and pour it into the glass over the ice.

Measure out 2 parts Aperol (traditionally about 2 ounces) and pour it into the glass over the Prosecco.

Step 4 

Add a splash of soda water to the glass. The soda water helps to balance the sweetness of the Aperol and adds a bit of effervescence.

Step 5 

Give the mixture a gentle stir with a long spoon or a cocktail stirrer. This helps to combine the ingredients evenly.

Step 6 

Take an orange slice and twist it slightly to release some of its oils. Then, drop it into the drink as a garnish. The orange slice adds a citrusy aroma and complements the flavors of the Aperol and Prosecco.

Optionally, you can also add a green olive as a garnish. This is a common addition in some regions, but it's entirely optional based on your preference.
