1. Gather Ingredients

Collect all the necessary ingredients for the cocktail. You'll need vodka, triple sec (or Cointreau), cranberry juice, freshly squeezed lime juice, and optionally, a lime twist or wedge for garnish.

2. Muddle Blackberries and Mint

In a cocktail shaker or a sturdy glass, place a handful of fresh blackberries (about 5-6) and 4-5 fresh mint leaves. Use a muddler or the back of a spoon to gently crush and muddle the blackberries and mint together. This releases the flavors and juices.

7. Shake

Secure the lid on the cocktail shaker and shake vigorously for about 15-20 seconds to chill the mixture and incorporate all the ingredients well. If you're using a glass, stir the ingredients well with a spoon.

8. Serve

Strain the cocktail mixture into a rocks glass filled with ice, using a fine-mesh strainer to catch any pulp or seeds from the blackberries. Optionally, you can garnish with an additional blackberry and a sprig of mint.
