Buffalo Chicken Calzone Recipe

1. Prepare the Dough 

Start by making or purchasing pizza dough. If you're making it from scratch, follow your favorite pizza dough recipe and let it rise according to the instructions.

2. Preheat Oven 

Preheat your oven to the temperature specified in your pizza dough recipe, usually around 425°F (220°C).

3. Prepare Buffalo Chicken 

Cook chicken breast pieces in a skillet with a bit of oil until they are cooked through. Once cooked, shred the chicken into small pieces. In a bowl, mix the shredded chicken with buffalo sauce until it's evenly coated. You can adjust the amount of sauce to your taste preferences.

4. Roll Out Dough 

On a lightly floured surface, roll out the pizza dough into a large circle or rectangle, depending on your preference for the shape of the calzone.

5. Add Fillings 

Spread a layer of shredded mozzarella cheese over one half of the rolled-out dough, leaving a border around the edges. Then spread the buffalo chicken mixture evenly over the cheese.

6. Fold and Seal  

Carefully fold the other half of the dough over the filling to create a half-circle or rectangle shape. Use your fingers or a fork to press and seal the edges of the calzone tightly.

7. Ventilation  

Use a knife to make a few small slits on the top of the calzone to allow steam to escape during baking.

8. Bake 

Transfer the assembled calzone onto a baking sheet lined with parchment paper or a lightly greased baking pan. Bake in the preheated oven for 20-25 minutes, or until the crust is golden brown and the cheese is melted and bubbly.
