Creamy Chicken Carbonara Recipe

1. Cook the Pasta 

Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Add the spaghetti or fettuccine and cook according to the package instructions until al dente. Drain the pasta, reserving 1/2 cup of the pasta water, and set aside.

2. Cook the Bacon and Chicken 

In a large skillet, cook the diced bacon over medium heat until it's crisp and browned. Remove the bacon from the skillet and set it aside. In the same skillet, add the diced chicken breasts and cook until they are golden brown and cooked through. Remove the chicken from the skillet and set it aside.

3. Prepare the Sauce 

In a mixing bowl, whisk together the eggs, heavy cream, grated Parmesan cheese, minced garlic, salt, and black pepper until well combined.

4. Combine Everything 

Return the cooked pasta to the skillet with the bacon and chicken. Pour the egg and cream mixture over the pasta, stirring quickly to coat the pasta evenly. The residual heat from the pasta and skillet will cook the eggs and create a creamy sauce.

5. Heat Through 

Cook the pasta mixture for an additional 1-2 minutes, stirring constantly, until the sauce thickens slightly and coats the pasta evenly. Be careful not to overcook, as the eggs may scramble if exposed to too much heat.

6. Adjust Seasoning 

Taste the pasta and adjust the seasoning with salt and pepper if necessary. Remember that the bacon and Parmesan cheese are already salty, so you may not need to add much additional salt.

7. Serve 

Once the pasta is heated through and the sauce is creamy, remove the skillet from the heat. Divide the creamy chicken carbonara among serving plates or bowls.

8. Garnish and Enjoy 

Garnish the creamy chicken carbonara with chopped fresh parsley if desired, and serve immediately. Enjoy your delicious homemade carbonara!
