1. Preheat your Oven

Start by patting the salmon fillets dry with paper towels. Season them generously with salt, pepper, and any other desired herbs or spices like dill or lemon zest.

2. Prepare your Pizza Dough

Whether you're using store-bought pizza dough or making your own from scratch, ensure it's at room temperature. If it's too cold, it will be difficult to stretch and might shrink back.

3. Prepare your Toppings

While the oven is preheating, prepare your pizza toppings. This could include pizza sauce, shredded cheese, sliced vegetables, meats, or any other toppings you prefer.

4. Stretch the Dough

Lightly flour a clean surface and stretch your pizza dough into a round shape, slightly smaller than the size of your cast iron skillet. You can use a rolling pin if needed, but stretching by hand helps maintain air bubbles for a lighter crust.

5. Prepare the Skillet

Once the oven is preheated, carefully remove the hot skillet using oven mitts or potholders. Brush the bottom and sides of the skillet with olive oil to prevent sticking and to help achieve a crispy crust.

6. Assemble the Pizza

Carefully transfer the stretched dough to the hot skillet. Press it down gently to ensure it covers the bottom of the skillet evenly. Add your desired toppings, starting with the sauce, followed by cheese, and then the rest of your toppings.

7. Cook the Pizza

Place the skillet back in the oven and bake the pizza for about 10-15 minutes, or until the crust is golden brown and the cheese is bubbly and melted. Keep an eye on it to prevent burning, as cooking times can vary depending on your oven and toppings.
