Italian Sausage Burgers Are an Easy Meal the Whole Family Will Love

1. Ingredients Gathering 

Collect all the necessary ingredients. For Italian Sausage Burgers, you'll need Italian sausages (either sweet or spicy depending on preference), hamburger buns, cheese slices (optional), lettuce, tomato slices, onion slices, and any other desired toppings or condiments like mustard or mayo.

2. Preheat Grill or Skillet 

If you're grilling the burgers, preheat your grill to medium-high heat. If you're cooking them on the stove, heat a skillet or grill pan over medium-high heat.

3. Prepare Sausages 

Remove the casings from the Italian sausages if they're in links. Place the sausage meat in a mixing bowl.

4. Form Patties 

Divide the sausage meat into equal portions depending on how many burgers you want to make. Shape each portion into a patty that's slightly larger than the size of your burger buns, as they will shrink slightly when cooked.

5. Cook Patties 

Place the sausage patties on the preheated grill or skillet. Cook for about 4-5 minutes on each side, or until they're fully cooked through and browned on the outside. Make sure to flip them gently to prevent them from falling apart.

6. Toast Burger Buns 

While the patties are cooking, you can optionally toast the hamburger buns. Place them on the grill or in a separate skillet, cut side down, for about 1-2 minutes or until lightly toasted.

7. Assemble Burgers 

Once the sausage patties are cooked, place them on the bottom half of each toasted bun. Add cheese slices on top of the patties if desired, followed by lettuce, tomato slices, onion slices, and any other toppings you prefer.
