Penne Alla Vodka Recipe

1. Gather Ingredients 

Collect all the necessary ingredients, including penne pasta, olive oil, garlic, crushed tomatoes, heavy cream, vodka, salt, pepper, and optionally, grated Parmesan cheese and fresh basil for garnish.

2. Cook Pasta 

Boil a large pot of salted water. Add the penne pasta and cook according to package instructions until al dente. Drain the pasta, reserving about a cup of the pasta water, and set aside.

3. Prepare Sauce 

Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add minced garlic and sauté until fragrant, about 1 minute. Be careful not to burn the garlic.

4. Add Tomatoes and Vodka 

Pour in the crushed tomatoes and stir well. Let the mixture simmer for a few minutes to allow the flavors to meld. Then, carefully add the vodka to the skillet. Simmer for another 5 minutes to allow the alcohol to cook off and the sauce to thicken slightly.

5. Incorporate Cream 

Reduce the heat to low and stir in the heavy cream until the sauce is smooth and creamy. Season with salt and pepper to taste.

6. Combine Pasta and Sauce 

Add the cooked penne pasta to the skillet with the sauce. Toss gently to coat the pasta evenly with the sauce. If the sauce seems too thick, you can add some of the reserved pasta water to thin it out.

7. Serve

Once the pasta is heated through and well coated with the sauce, remove the skillet from the heat.

8. Garnish and Serve 

Optionally, garnish the Penne alla Vodka with grated Parmesan cheese and fresh basil leaves for added flavor and presentation. Serve hot and enjoy your delicious meal!
