Skillet Lasagna Recipe

Step 1: Gather Ingredient

beef, onion, garlic, tomatoes, paste, water, basil, oregano, salt, pepper, noodles, mozzarella, ricotta, Parmesan, herbs.

Step 2: Brown the Meat 

In a large skillet or pan, cook the ground beef (or your chosen meat) over medium heat until browned. Drain excess fat if necessary.

Step 3: Add Aromatics 

Add chopped onion and minced garlic to the skillet with the browned meat. Cook for 2-3 minutes until the onion is translucent and fragrant.

Step 4: Incorporate Tomato Products 

Stir in the crushed tomatoes and tomato paste. Then add water, dried basil, dried oregano, salt, and pepper. Mix well to combine all the ingredients.

Step 5: Add Lasagna Noodles 

Add the broken lasagna noodles to the skillet, ensuring they are submerged in the sauce. Stir occasionally to prevent sticking. Cook for about 10-12 minutes or until the noodles are tender.

Step 6: Layer with Cheeses 

Once the noodles are cooked, sprinkle shredded mozzarella cheese evenly over the top. Then spoon dollops of ricotta cheese over the mozzarella. Finally, sprinkle grated Parmesan cheese over the ricotta.

Step 7: Melt and Combine Cheeses 

Cover the skillet with a lid and let it simmer for a few minutes until the cheeses are melted and bubbly. You can also place the skillet under the broiler for a couple of minutes to brown the cheese on top.

Step 8: Serve 

Once the cheeses are melted and bubbly, remove the skillet from heat. Garnish with fresh basil or parsley if desired. Serve the skillet lasagna hot directly from the skillet, scooping out portions onto plates.
