Spicy Watermelon Mezcal Margarita

1. Prepare the Ingredients 

Gather all the necessary ingredients. You'll need fresh watermelon chunks, mezcal, lime juice, agave syrup, jalapeño slices, and salt for rimming the glass.

2. Rim the Glass  

Take a margarita glass and rim it with salt. To do this, rub a lime wedge around the rim of the glass, then dip it into a plate of salt until the rim is coated.

3. Muddle the Jalapeño 

In a cocktail shaker, add a few slices of jalapeño. Use a muddler or the back of a spoon to gently crush the jalapeño slices to release their flavor. Be careful not to over-muddle unless you prefer an extra spicy drink.

4. Add Watermelon Chunks 

Drop a handful of fresh watermelon chunks into the cocktail shaker with the muddled jalapeño.

5. Add Mezcal, Lime Juice, and Agave Syrup 

Pour in the desired amount of mezcal (typically around 2 ounces), fresh lime juice (usually 1 ounce), and a splash of agave syrup for sweetness. Adjust the quantities according to your taste preferences.

6. Shake Well 

Securely fasten the lid on the cocktail shaker and shake vigorously for about 15-20 seconds. This helps to blend all the flavors and chill the drink.

7. Strain into the Glass 

Using a strainer, pour the contents of the shaker into the rimmed margarita glass, making sure to catch any pulp or seeds. You can also strain it over fresh ice if you prefer a colder drink.

8. Garnish and Serve 

Garnish your Spicy Watermelon Mezcal Margarita with a slice of jalapeño or a wedge of watermelon on the rim for an extra visual appeal. Serve immediately and enjoy your refreshing and spicy cocktail!
