Sweet and Spicy Chicken Recipe

Step 1: Gather Your Ingredient

Boneless chicken, soy sauce, honey, sriracha, olive oil, garlic, salt, pepper. Optional: sesame seeds, green onions.

Step 2: Prepare the Marinade 

In a bowl, mix together soy sauce, honey, sriracha sauce, minced garlic, a pinch of salt, and pepper. Adjust the quantities to your taste preferences. This marinade will provide the sweet and spicy flavor to your chicken.

Step 3: Marinate the Chicken 

Place the chicken breasts or thighs in a shallow dish or a zip-top bag. Pour the marinade over the chicken, making sure each piece is evenly coated. Seal the dish or bag and let the chicken marinate in the refrigerator for at least 30 minutes to allow the flavors to penetrate the meat.

Step 4: Preheat the Oven   

Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) to prepare for baking the chicken.

Step 5: Cook the Chicken 

Heat a skillet over medium-high heat and add a bit of olive oil. Once the skillet is hot, add the chicken pieces, discarding any excess marinade. Sear the chicken for about 2-3 minutes on each side until golden brown.

Once the chicken is seared, transfer it to a baking dish or oven-safe skillet and place it in the preheated oven.

Step 7: Bake 

Bake the chicken in the oven for about 20-25 minutes, or until it reaches an internal temperature of 165°F (75°C) and is cooked through. Baste the chicken with any remaining marinade halfway through baking to keep it moist and flavorful.

Once the chicken is cooked, remove it from the oven and let it rest for a few minutes. Garnish with sesame seeds and sliced green onions if desired. Serve the sweet and spicy chicken hot with your favorite side dishes, such as rice and steamed vegetables.
