Sweet & Smokey Bacon-Wrapped Scallops Recipe

1. Gather Ingredients  

Collect the necessary ingredients, including scallops, bacon slices, brown sugar, smoked paprika, salt, and pepper.

2. Preheat Oven 

Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper or aluminum foil for easy cleanup.

3. Prepare Scallops 

Pat the scallops dry with paper towels to remove excess moisture. Season them lightly with salt and pepper.

4. Wrap Scallops 

Cut the bacon slices in half crosswise. Take each scallop and wrap it with a half slice of bacon, securing it with a toothpick. Repeat this process for all the scallops.

5. Mix Sweet & Smokey Coating 

In a small bowl, mix together the brown sugar and smoked paprika until well combined. Adjust the amount of sugar and paprika according to your taste preferences.

6. Coat Scallops 

Dip each bacon-wrapped scallop into the sweet and smokey coating mixture, ensuring it's evenly coated on all sides. Place the coated scallops onto the prepared baking sheet, leaving space between each one.

7. Bake 

Place the baking sheet in the preheated oven and bake the scallops for about 15-20 minutes, or until the bacon is crispy and the scallops are cooked through. You may want to flip the scallops halfway through the cooking time for even browning.

8. Serve 

Once done, remove the toothpicks from the scallops and transfer them to a serving platter. Serve the sweet and smokey bacon-wrapped scallops hot as an appetizer or as part of a main course. Enjoy!
