1. Prepare Ingredients 

Gather all your ingredients. You'll need ground turkey, breadcrumbs (or oatmeal), egg, onion, garlic, salt, pepper, and any additional seasoning or herbs you prefer.

2. Mix Ingredients 

In a mixing bowl, combine the ground turkey, breadcrumbs (or oatmeal), finely chopped onion, minced garlic, beaten egg, salt, pepper, and any other seasonings you like. Mix everything together thoroughly but try not to overwork the mixture, as this can make the burgers tough.

3. Form Patties 

Divide the mixture into equal portions and shape them into patties. Make sure they are evenly sized and shaped for even cooking.

4. Preheat Grill or Pan  

Preheat your grill or a pan over medium-high heat. You want it to be hot enough to sear the burgers quickly.

5. Cook Patties 

Place the patties onto the grill or pan and cook for about 5-7 minutes on each side, or until they are cooked through and nicely browned on the outside. Make sure to flip them carefully to avoid breaking apart.

6. Add Cheese (Optional) 

If you like cheese on your burgers, you can add a slice of your favorite cheese (such as cheddar, Swiss, or pepper jack) to the top of each patty during the last minute or so of cooking. Let it melt slightly.

7. Toast Buns 

While the patties are cooking, you can also toast your burger buns on the grill or in a toaster. This step is optional but adds a nice crunch and flavor to the burgers.

Once the patties are cooked to your desired level of doneness and the buns are toasted, assemble your burgers by placing the patties on the bottom buns and adding your favorite toppings such as lettuce, tomato, onion, pickles, mustard, ketchup, or mayo.
